Landscape can offer a sense of peace and belonging. The light and shadow of the landscape are both unique and familiar. Photography allows me to capture
fleeting moments of my world.
I am interested in capturing natural colour and printing a photograph of what
truly can be seen. Landscapes offer subtle palettes of colour that are unique to an area. I return often to favourite locations and spend the time to be present and photograph what I see. It is my hope to capture a recognizable palette of colour and the silhouette of the landscape.
I use a digital camera with a tripod and the majority of my photographs are done as a new day begins. My landscape photographs are a representation of what I have seen and love about where I spend my days in La Cloche.
For more than 30 years, Kerry has enjoyed taking nature and travel photographs. While her children were growing up the content turned to family milestones and experiences. Photographing the landscape has always been inspiring for Kerry.
Year-round hiking and exploring in the quartzite ridges of the La Cloche Mountains have provided ample opportunity for Kerry to experience and photograph her northern landscape. Kerry uses
photography to capture and share the beauty and mood of a setting.
“I use photography to capture the natural light of a special moment, a view that we all recognize and hold in our memory. The present moment is not to be hung onto, yet a photograph allows me
to celebrate it.”
Photography has allowed Kerry to share memorable moments of her life in La Cloche Country.
Her photographs have been selected for juried shows in Sudbury, Manitoulin and La Cloche.
Kerry lives in the village of Willisville with her husband, Jon.
