Artist Statement

“There are NO RULES” (Jack Bush).  I find myself loosening the rules that bind my freedom to painterly achievement.  Pallet knives, sheer fabric and jewelry allow a more direct expression of my emotions onto the canvas.  Art for me was never an option; it’s who I am and what I do.

Biography

“There are no rules” (Jack Bush) is Carenie’s credo.

Carenie had an early love for painting while growing up in Montreal.  This was refined while attending Cambrian College for her Fine Arts degree and raising a family in Sudbury.  People have always been in Carenie’s works and after a breakthrough; she began work on the ‘Dream Sequence’; a series of paintings exploring woman’s issues.

Currently Carenie is creating semi-abstract portraiture and has recently stretched her creative talents by adding shear fabric collage into her work.

Carenie paints full time at her art studio beside her home in Whitefish near Sudbury, Ontario
