Kathleen Pistor is a representational artist who currently resides in Windsor, ON and
McGregor Bay, ON. She was born Kathleen Kissick, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where she
spent her formative years, forever influencing her love of the North. Kathleen holds a Fine Arts degree (B.A., Hons) from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education specializing in
Visual Arts from the University of Western Ontario. During her 37-year teaching career she taught Visual Arts and Art History, introducing students to a variety of styles and mediums from the
ancient world to present day, and encouraging students to cultivate their own techniques and interests. Kathleen herself has worked confidently with many subjects, styles, and mediums throughout
her career, but has always been most passionate about capturing the Georgian Bay landscape via watercolour and acrylic in both miniature and large scale. She is a member of the Canadian
Federation of Artists and the Association of Representational Artists Windsor. In 2019 Kathleen won 1st place for Acrylic Painting in the La Cloche juried Art Show, 3rd place overall in the ARA
juried art show in Windsor and was accepted into the New Market Juried Art Show two years in a row (2019, 2020). In 2020 her painting For the Love of Georgian Bay won Best Waterscape at Paint
Ontario. In addition to her love of painting, she is also an active jewelry designer, using her skills as a silver and copper smith, and creating beaded works from precious and semi-precious
stones.
