Biography

Len Harfield is a painter in watercolour, acrylic, oil, and mixed media...painting in a traditional style with vivid colours and strong design. Len is very much influenced by the French Impressionist artists and some of the Group of Seven painters. He has studied with some of the greats in the contemporary art world but over the years has developed his very own style. His range of topics and variety of styles is broad, which is unusual. So his work is never mundane or boring. Len likes to paint places and scenes he has experienced, Kawartha wetlands, Manitoulin rivers, European street scenes and floral gardens. He is a keen painter of snow and historic buildings. The artist believes in painting his view of the world with some exaggeration, full of complementary colours and quite free.  When someone tells Len his painting made them feel good, then mission accomplished.
