Mary Linda Tait was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She studied at Queens University and
the Ontario College of Art and Design, and then began a career in National Advertising Sales in
Toronto, Ontario.  As a young girl, Mary Linda was fascinated, enthralled and enchanted by the bold costume jewellery worn by her mother and grandmother.  In 2005, after inheriting her mother's
collection, she took courses in Jewellery Design in order to create contemporary looks from
those vintage beads and stones.
Success came quickly. Mary Linda's work sold at established Toronto retailers such as "Made
You Look", Queen Street, Toronto and at artisan exhibits such as "The Toronto Distillery Show".
Mary Linda relocated to Collingwood, Ontario in 2014.  She now finds inspiration for her
jewellery design in the beauty of the colours and textures found in the natural elements of
Georgian Bay…. the rocks, water, sky and greenery surrounding her.

 "Eccentricities” is the name of my jewellery collection. Eccentricities are defined as deviations
from the established patterns, rules, or norms that are somewhat odd, fanciful and whimsical.
Art is my passion, in all forms…. creativity brings me joy….and the more eccentric and
eclectic…. the more joy I find.
I am especially honoured to be represented by Perivale Gallery.
